Endure hardness like a good soldier of Jesus Christ / Let your light so shine among men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. [2 Tim. 2:3; Matt. 5:16.] |

THE FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS At the beginning of the New Testament Church in Acts 2:45, there is a striking indication of the level of commitment that the followers of Christ had. “Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.” It was this zeal for worship and brotherly love that gave the early church such a solid foundation and attracted people to Jesus Christ. As the body of Christ, we have a tremendous opportunity to reflect His light and thereby attract others to salvation through Him. That had to be in the mind of the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:1 where he urged the believers in Rome to ”offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.” It is surely the case that the “passion” that was Christ’s will be transferred to his followers and eventually to all Creation. ~ C. Our calling is not to one of passivity but a proactive reflection of the passion and zeal that Jesus displayed and that was certainly true of his disciples and the early believers. There is no greater cause and no greater sacrifice than to follow him as a true “soldiers of light’ in the fellowship of believers |
